FASHION AFFICIONADOS in Wyoming in USA have something to be excited about on Valentine’s weekend 2020.
Jhay Layson, the noted Filipino designer specializing in sartorial fashions, is going to America again, to showcase his beautiful gowns, dresses and suits.
The show, touted as a fashion show with a dance party, will be presented on the runway of Cheyenne's top hotel, the Little America Hotel on February 16, 2020, 4:00 pm, Sunday. (See poster below for show details.)
Jhay is considered as one of the Philippines’ most emerging fashion designers, with his creations having been worn by celebrities, models and other luminaries. But the young designer is ready to do more, create more, design more, and achieve greater heights in 2020.
"I am so grateful for being given this international exposure. God is so good", Jhay shares in a a recent interview.
Jhay, always easy to get along with and ever easy to approach, has conquered – in the space of less than a year – what other designers can only dream of in a lifetime: to do a series of shows in Europe (last quarter of 2019), a photo shoot with an international photographer in Paris, and a touring show in America.
In his latest fashion incursion in Wyoming, Jhay says he was invited again by Gigi Hobson, co-founder of the “Best of the Islands” fashion show series, which has had two tours to day: Europe and America in 2019.
Mrs. Hobson has tapped Cheyenne-based event organizer Lance Loren to mount this one-of-a-kind production.
The state’s top beauty queen’s will model Jhay’s collection, including:
· Miss Wyoming 2019 Jordan Hardman
· Miss Wyoming 2017 Cheyenne Buyert
Upcoming model Lizzie Riley from Texas (Miss Fashion Week 2019 3rd runner up) is also going to be one of the models.
The proceeds of the show shall benefit “Project V.E.T.S.”, an NGO that accepts donations of gently-used and new veterinary/medical equipment, technology and supplies (V.E.T.S.). Animal lovers in Wyoming can make a difference for animals in need by donating these items, as well as monetary gifts to help support the cost to ship these items around the world.
Other proceeds of the show will also go to the Fil-Am Club of Cheyenne. For ticket inquiries: (512) 529-8351 (Lance Loren) | (512) 294-7045 (Gigi Hobson). Show tickets -- priced at $75 and $50.
